1. Empowering Northern Bangladeshi Women Farmers through Climate Resilient Agriculture

The project is implemented in Chirirbandar, Bangladesh, in an area surrounded by rivers and severely affected by climate change. It tests climate adaptation strategies and methodologies. The project targets 100 extreme poor women from 3 flood-prone, underserved villages. This includes young women and indigenous women of minority religions and tribes. The project equips the women with skills and confidence to adapt to climate change, earn a sustainable income, and take greater control over decisions that affect their lives. Through an experimental learning approach, the women learn to flood-proof their homestead productions. They apply a business mindset, learn about rights and responsibilities, and form networks for early warning and liaison with local government.

Project start and end dates: April 15, 2025 – February 28, 2026.
2. Organizational Strengthening of Olkiloriti Masai Aid and their Women Groups
The project supports indigenous communities in Tanzania by strengthening the organizational capacity of Olkiloriti Masai Aid, a community-based organization, and by empowering three women groups in remote Masai villages to develop leadership skills and increase their income-generating capacity. The project builds on Olkiloriti Masai Aid’s foundation in the community and further enhances its operational capacity. Despite the challenges posed by remoteness and marginalization, the organization plays a role in mobilizing and supporting communities and representing them at the local government level. With increased organizational capacity and support from the project, Olkiloriti Masai Aid empowers 60 extremely poor Masai women in three groups in three remote villages. The women are trained on leadership, rights, and business skills, and they are supported to establish saving groups and revolving lending schemes.

Climate
We support people to build resilient lives and safeguard their environment as weather becomes increasingly unpredictable and hazardous. This enables them to stay and thrive in their own communities, instead of becoming climate refugees.
Women
We empower women with rights, education, and economic opportunities in communities marked by systemic gender inequalities — where women work longer hours, have fewer resources, and encounter persistent barriers to equal participation.
Inclusion
We support the inclusion and leadership of Indigenous peoples by strengthening their rights, livelihoods, and voice in climate and development processes.
